Lesson 1

Genders Are Equal but Different

Teaches that equal worth does not mean being identical, using the picture of Eve made from Adam's side and a pair of scissors with two different blades. Helps learners tell lasting differences from cultural ones.

A lighthouse in a heavy sea, a huge wave breaking around its base, a person standing in the open doorway

Lesson 2

Sources of Truth

Uses a game of telephone to show how truth gets bent as it passes through unreliable sources. Points learners to God, the scriptures and living prophets, and looks at how popular words like love and family have drifted from their meaning.

An open notebook with blank pages and a sharpened pencil resting across it

Lesson 3

Stories of How I Know

Walks learners through writing a short story about how they know something is true, using prompts on prayer, scripture and service. Teaches that telling those stories is bearing testimony and a way to strengthen others.

Blank 'Hello, my name is' badges fanned out on a table beside four permanent markers

Lesson 4

Identity and Labels

Helps learners sort the labels they use for themselves into permanent ones, like being a child of God, and passing ones, like hobbies or moods. Warns that some labels can quietly limit us, as the elephant that never tried to leave its rope.

A girl in a patterned headwrap and a boy in a wide straw hat standing side by side outdoors, looking at the camera

Lesson 5

Gender Complementarity

Teaches that men and women were made different on purpose and fit together to do more than either could alone. Uses a "magic square" activity and prophetic teaching to show that gender is part of who we have always been.

A scattering of brilliant-cut diamonds catching the light

Lesson 6

Discerning Counterfeits

Shows how something harmful can be made to look good, using a game where learners play the spider luring in a victim. Then points to the Holy Ghost and the Savior's "by their fruits" test as the way to tell what is true.
